Joint Venture Successful Once Again: With a Multifaceted Program and Renowned Speakers, Organizers Enthused Numerous Attendees About Ceramic Implants and Aesthetic Concepts in the Capital on May 9–10

The second weekend of May at the Dorint Hotel Berlin Kurfürstendamm couldn’t have gone better for the many participants. As in previous years, the professional societies ISMI (International Society of Metal Free Implantology e.V.) and DGKZ (German Society for Cosmetic Dentistry e.V.) combined their annual meetings, leveraging the potential of shared platforms to set trends in both disciplines.

Ceramic Implants – State of the Art

For its 9th annual meeting, the International Society of Metal Free Implantology e.V. focused on future trends, clinical evidence, and best practices in the field of metal-free implantology, under the scientific direction of Dr. Karl Ulrich Volz and Dr. Dominik Nischwitz. Ceramic implants continue to be in vogue and are gaining increasing importance—not only from an aesthetic perspective, as was clearly demonstrated by the exciting and multifaceted program. What is the current state of data? What new studies have been published or are in development? Are ceramic implants (still) viable for the future? The speakers presented the current favorable conditions in their specialized field and offered an optimistic outlook. In addition to clinical case studies and presented evidence, the focus was also on the exchange of experiences—at an international level as well.

At the ISMI Pre-Congress Symposium, Dr. Robert Bauder gave a lecture on “Ceramic Immediate Implants as a Time-Efficient Game Changer for Optimizing Overall Health & Longevity,” and Dr. Dominik Nischwitz spoke on “From Technician to Health Expert – The Evolution of Dentistry and the Rise of Biodentistry 3.0.” Further valuable contributions were made by Moritz Kneer, Dr. Adina Landschoof, and ZA Ralf Petersen. The pre-congress offered not only practical content but also ample space for professional discussions.

The accompanying industry exhibition was very well received. It showcased not only product innovations but also served as a popular venue for collegial exchanges. Thus, as in the previous year, it was fitting to end the evening with food, drinks, light music, and good conversations. On Saturday, the popular Table Clinics provided ample opportunity for in-depth exchange on specialized topics.

Saturday at ISMI was dedicated to science. Speakers included Dr. Dominik Nischwitz, Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Shahram Ghanaati, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Peter Gehrke, Dr. Thomas Franke, Dr. Markus Sperlich and Dr. Mathias Sperlich, Dr. Susanna Zentai, Dr. Gregor Hočevar, and Dr. Rebekka Ellenrieder.

Dream Smiles Meet Reality

“Aesthetic Concepts with Substance” formed the thematic focus of the DGKZ’s annual meeting under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr. Martin Jörgens. This year’s content focus was a response to patients’ changing expectations and desires. In addition to restoring natural, functional conditions in the oral and maxillofacial area, these desires are reflected in both simple and complex aesthetic solutions. Under the main theme “Aesthetic Concepts,” speakers and panelists included Prof. Jörgens, Prof. Dr. Christian R. Gernhardt, Anh Duc Nguyen, Dr. Natalie Pütz, Dr. Theodor Thiele, and Dr. Petra Schumacher. Both specialists in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry and general practitioners were able to take home valuable insights from the presentations.

The lively atmosphere among attendees, the harmonious cooperation between the two professional societies, and the resulting depth of content once again created a remarkable win-win situation for all participants. The joint platform invited active participation and discussion, while the individual lecture segments offered in-depth explorations of key topics.
